I want to add a pair of dovetail feet to this cutting board. I've never made a dovetail joint but have the bits and the router table to do it.

My questions: do I round over (profile) the edge of the cutting boars first then add the sliding dovetail? I assumed I'd cut the slot and then add the feet BUT then it's not flat and trying to round of the edge would be tough. I'm having trouble picturing the process in my head.

Question 2: there's a slight wobble in the board. In the photo it shows a gap on the left (cat) side. I have an 8" jointer, should I remove the guard and pass it through then through the planer again?

I don't think it would be noticeable once the feet are on.

Either you'll have to level the board now or level the feet later.

I would probably try to flatten the board before cutting any dovetail slots because the wobble might make the groove inconsistent in terms of depth.
