For 15 years I have used a oneway stabilizer for deep boring vases & urns with no trouble due to vibration. An 18" walnut lamp base would not settle down despite all fixes---what to do. Borrowed an identical stabilizer from a friend and put one forward and one backward. Now it hums--this may be cheaper than buying complicated multiwheeled gizmos on the market now. Four wheels humming.

Robert, I own one of these but seldom use it because I built my own but I think you might be on to something!

Robert, I'm not familiar with the Oneway stabilizer. Is it like a bowl steady?

Yeah Steve--look it up on any turning catalog. Made for bowls and vases ect. Sells for about $120 last time I looked. The single stabilizer works very well on most pieces but this one was very off balance.
