A quick question on shellac...

I have been re-finishing some old saw handles using BLO and followed up with several coats of spray de-waxed shellac (which I like the feel of very much).

My question is, if I stop here, will this finish be durable enough for the task or should I now apply poly or something over the shellac?

I did a saw handle with shellac last year and it has held up fine. FWIW

I was hoping that could be the case as I really like the feel of just the shellac.

The shellac is just fine...and easily renewed if it wears. A quick coat wiped on in the future will restore the surface to "like new".
