Hi folks,
Trying something new in this picture posting. Please bear with me.

One of the best kept secerts are the Stanley 144`s. A simple corner rounding plane. Bedded at 50* they work well in cross and with the grain.
The built in fence ensures a uniform roundover and the sole limits depth.
A true grab and go tool.
eBay has them but so does that shop in Mesa, for a fraction of the price.

Ok, let`s see if the picture works.
Thanks

Got to figure out how to make a thumbnail expand to a full size when clicked on.
Any advice ?
Thanks

John, just size your picture for final display...600 pixels wide is what I use...and SMC will automatically create the thumbnail.

BTW, those are interesting planes.

Hi Jim,

St James Bay is the shop they are from. Very economical, especially considering the cost of the originals in the vintage market. In fact, I would imagine the cost of the three sizes (1/8”, 3/16”, and 1/4” radius) SJB sells these for is less than a single vintage one.

Better yet, they actually work extremely well. Most all of the work I do that has radiused corners in these sizes gets the treatment from them. In fact, because I usually mix different radii on the same job, if one is needed, most likely I use two for different parts. I can radius the corners on an average project in peace and quiet pretty much faster than using the shaper.

Can't tell I like them, can you?

Mike

Mike,
greetings from the "porch". You may recall our conversations over there.

Another fine example of vintage tools! Judging by the looks of it, you can't hardly tell it's "vintage"! Nice job.:) BTW, hope you don't mind, but I "enhanced" the pic a little for easier viewing.:D
