Hey everyone, anyone used some kind of bearing for rolling pin handles?
Dad's been making some really beautiful rolling pins using re-sawn and glued up rolling pins using multiple species.. He wants to use handles with some sort of sleeve type bearing.

I've been searching the net for about an hour to no avail and now appeal to your collective wisdom.

Thanks,
W

Will,
If you are looking for bronze bushings, two places come to mind:

http://www.mcmaster.com/ Typically will have just about anything you might need.

http://www.use-enco.com/ Have a limited supply of bronze oilite bushings

A local hardware store (real hardware store) should have them as well.

Hope I'm on the right track, I've never made a rolling pin before. You might also want to search the archives to see if there are any recommendations.
Wes

PS Welcome to the "Creek" - You wouldn't happen to have relatives in the Salem Ohio area? My family - Krauss side comes from there.

Wes, Thanks.

I don't know of any close Krauss relatives in Ohio.. most of mine are in Missouri.
Not related to Allison either (afaik)
