Does any software exist that will alert the owner as to the whereabouts of his/her stolen laptop should it get stolen.

"find iphone" is free and works great from either an app or web browser and tracks locations of Apple phones, pads, and laptops that are able to access the internet to an accuracy of 20-30 ft. It won't work if the devices are turned off or not able to access an internet connection.
