Seemed to have lost some power on my 130W Reci tube. Was cutting 1/4" BB at a speed of 23, now cutting at 19 with the same power. Have cleaned the mirrors. Just wondering if it is OK to clean the output lens on the Reci tube. If so, what is the best cleaning agent to do so.

Is it dirty? If not, then leave it alone. I have never touched the output window of any of my tubes. Most I have done is squirt some alcohol at it then blow dry. Do not use acetone.

If you have one of those very bright LED flashlights, get to where you can shine it onto the lens and look at it from a 45° or so angle. With the light you can really see if the surface is clean or not. It's how I check my mirrors....

If it's shiny, leave it be, if it's dusty or scuzzy, do like Rich says, use some alcohol. Me, I'm not afraid to use Q-tips... And the flashlight will show any streaks you may leave behind..

If you are cutting plywood use distilled water to clean the optics
