You folks remember a book years ago that focused on cabinet projects made with melamine? I can't remember the author's name, but I think he was from Canada.

Any ideas?

I believe the late Danny Proulx was the author. He wrote a column in Cabinetmaker magazine and wrote several books.

It was this one: https://www.amazon.com/Build-Your-Own-Kitchen-Cabinets/dp/1558706763 Thing is it makes sense, though I still like Plywood. Dan

Danny Proulx once wrote several (IMHO outstanding) articles for 'Canadian Woodworking Magazine' which include the kitchen cabinet building book. https://www.canadianwoodworking.com/author/danny-proulx

I saw a video by Paul Jenkins on YouTube the other day. He was making cabinets out of melamine. Maybe this would help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAaSDV_M7i0

Danny Proulx changed the way I build cabinets. Butt screw boxes, screw on backs, add a semi face frame, and end cap to match face frame. So simple, but looks great.

The Chinese had an interesting Melamine project in 2008. They put it in milk and baby formula to boost protein levels so that they would pass protein tests. Ended up in a number of deaths, over 50,000 babies being hospitalized, and a couple of face-saving executions. They never fail to amaze me.

Yes, that's the one. Thanks!
