I found a craftsman deep in the middle of Venice, Italy that had a shop window full of the most amazing creative things he had made. His shop was about the size of my bathroom.

I have him a couple of finger tops I always carry and we got to "talking" (gestures, mostly) about woodturning. He wanted to show me his lathe, went in the back room and came back with a Dewalt electric drill which he clamped to the workbench.

We are so spoiled.

I think that's really cool, and he's no doubt skilled at it; but I doubt he's turning like that because he can't get his hands on an electric lathe. It's more likely a performance to draw attention to his wares.
