Hey! Just out of curiosity...how many of those nice plastic glue spreaders that credit card companies send you in the mail do you have tucked away in a drawer. I used to use them and clean them up for use later. However, lately, between my wife and I, I have been getting at least 2 per week in the mail.

Right now I believe I have 24 of them saved up and fully expect by the end of the week that number will be closer to 30.

I also pull the foam off used brushes and use the plastic blade to spread glue.

I try to use Nitrile gloves when doing glue-ups along with the standard glue/acid brushes.

For big areas, I use a brayer. When I am done spreading the glue, I drop it in a bucket of water. By the time I am done with the clamping, most of the glue has disolved off the brayer.

I just use thin scrap cutoffs.

Couple of years ago Rockler was giving away free denim work aprons. It's not the best tool apron I've seen, but it sure comes in handy during glue ups thereby keeping my bib overhauls good enough for wiping everything else on

One of HF great buys, their 1 1/2 in. brushes, 36 to a box for 3.99. Works great for edges and corners, then just toss, easy cleanup !

A nylon roller designed for rolling wallpaper edges. Works like a charm, and cleans up in a snap.

I too am a free credit card guy. Price is perfect. I also use a brayer from time to time. And, if need be I use an acid brush, but I then soak them in water and reuse them. I know they are less than 10 c. each, but I just hate to throw things away.

You know...you can (and probably should) "turn off" those pre-printed credit card offers by opting out at the credit bureaus. Even the paper offers without any cards are a risk should they be stolen from your mailbox. I called in a couple years ago and get zero offers these days, other than an occasional one from a financial institution that I actually do business with. (And future offers from them are getting turned off as soon as they arrive via exercise of their privacy and marketing opt out provisions)

I use the acid brushes, but my wife has been saving CDs. They ought to work to spread glue too.
