Ugh!! Ok, so I got this 50W 2004 LaserPro Explorer, and it was supposedly running fine for the last owner, but now I get this 'oops' on startup. Previous owner said he put in a new Y axis motor.
On startup, the laser travels on X axis to the back right corner just fine, each & every time.
Then it starts forward on the Y axis to about the same mid point each time - once it made it all the way down to the front left.
As it moves diagonally back and left, it clunks to a full stop - and then nothing.
Here's the vid >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRF8Ol1RROA
My non-technical mind says the motor should be fine since there is some movement. Could it be a software/firmware problem? is there a way to restore to factory defaults? Any suggestions on companies/persons that can troubleshoot remotely? Or are in the Sacramento CA vicinity that make house calls?
