I just finished what started out as a card table with a folding top, but ended up as an accent table for our hallway. I just could not get next to how thick the top looked folded up, as that would be the way it would look most of the time (we don't play cards). I also saved some money on the hinges.

The wood is walnut top and legs and walnut veneer, the inlay is maple I got from a log that had a "free wood" sign on it along the side of the road.

Here is a pic of where it will end up sitting.

I think if you click on the picture, it enlarges and looks better.

Nice job, it looks great. Have you seen the Dec. issue of FWW?

They have a construction feature on a card table very similar to yours. Check it out.

Really nice work, Craig. The inlay looks like it'd be a lot of work, but it came out great. And you could still use the table for a small game of blackjack, so you really could call it a card table. Whatever you end up calling it, I'm sure it'll get quite a few SWMBO points in your favor.

That's a beautiful table, Craig. If that's an HVAC register behind it, I wonder if it could cause a moisture change problem?

Craig, your table is very well done. It also reminds me of the current issue of FWW. Your table is every bit as nice. Thanks for posting. Lars

Beautiful work Craig! I'd hate to see it covered with peanut shells and beer bottles! I think fate lent a hand.;)

Craig, excellent job on the table. Someday I need to step-up to doing some inlay work. I love the look.
