As the clean-up commences in North Queensland after Cyclone Debbie, spare a thought for the residents of Ayr who found a bull shark washed up just down the road some considerable distance from the nearest river! Another reason to heed advice to stay out of floodwaters.

I worked in this region on and off for a few years but I only had to deal with a Category 2 Cyclone once. It did dump 3 metres of rain in the space of 3 days though.

The damage from this Category 4 Cyclone is considerable but the resources for the recovery were being deployed before the storm hit so no-one will be left behind or unassisted. We can also easily make donations at any bank and most supermarkets. It's the Australian way. Cheers

I hope they recover quickly.

My equestrian friends in that area have been posting a lot about things "down there"...fortunately, they are all safe and doing well so far. 'Glad that things are in place for recovery and helping those in need!
