:o I saw a Stanley #90 shoulder plane that was made in England at a meeting last week. Its just what I need for trimming dado cuts. My mistake was not asking where I could get one, Any Ideas?

Start with the usual suspects. First consider Highland Hardware in GA. They have lots of good stuff including some english made stanleys. Then give the folks at Garrett Wade a try. As I recall, they are located in New York. Of course, there is the outfit called... "Tools for Woodworking" which is an internet outlet.

But if its shoulder plane your after, you may consider the preston 73. The orig. was designed by preston but then copied for years by record and lately its been copied by Lie Nielson. LN redid some of the details of the variable mouth and added a brass handle. The work they did on this plane is incredible and its made much more precisely than the orig. preston which is a collectors item today. Its also much better made than the record 73s.
