I just returned from an exciting weekend of woodworking. We went to ASWR and build pieces which in the near future will be auctioned off to benefit cancer research - a disease which touches us all.

Here are a few photos...some I know you will recognize

We accomplished a lot during the weekend, a few more hours finishing and they will be ready to be auctioned off...specific details to follow.

I was happy to be a part of it.

Great post Gail, and an outstanding cause to boot. The projects look like they will pull in a fair amount of funds for the cause. Well done:) :)

A fine cause indeed! I lost my mom to the silent killer. Nice of all of you to donate your time and talents!

Thank you, Gail. Trust me, the state of funding is not pleasant right now...Dr. SWMBO does cancer research and the past few years have been brutal when it comes to money. Priorities are elsewhere it seems. Your efforts are appreciated in this house!

Gail,

Great post. It's heartwarming to see the cooperation for a worthy cause. That's what "community" is all about.

What fun! It's cool to see everyone working together on the same projects. Great cause....you're probably saving my life....later.

Thanks everyone...when my mom died when I was 17 from cancer, for years it left me with the feeling like cancer was so final and that I could do nothing to stop it. As I get older I realize that there are things that we can do, however big and small to make a difference. It is exciting for me to take something that I am so passionate about and do something so valuable.

I appreciate the encouragement and support.
