Anyone know of or running Schimdt coping discs. They have them in three or four sizes not looking it up think 8, 9, 10" or close to those numbers. They hold corrugaged and I figure if they work well could do any thickness door from entry to cabinet door. Think they were 1" thick, again should look that up maykbe it was less and took knives up to 1" I had asked the company if anyone near Toronto id like to see some running and got no response. Anyone know of a video showing how they work and in particular to see if used for door tennons how they cut the edges of the tennon. Knives would have to be ground a certain way to not rub too much. Ive searched on the net and found zip, Had a few emails from a guy on the site that ran them on a moulder can only find half of his responses said they worked well. Id like to see this stuff in action it strikes me as odd there is not info on them on the net or I cant find anyone up here using them.

Had them make a set for my tenoner. I believe they were 3/4" thick. Holds my cope knives,
I think they are 6" diameter, about an 8" cutting circle.

Maybe 300 bucks each.

Darcy,
Are you running a Powermatic? If so, how easy/accurate are the copes to setup? We are rebuilding a PM 2A, the rebuild is coming along well, but unable to locate a double shaft 1hp single phase motor. Any ideas?

thanks,
John G

Look for old delta contractor saws, they had a 1hp double shaft in the 60's. I had one on the shelf for years but traded it last year.

Larry,

Thanks for the tip, was it the old table saw/joiner combo machine? I recall these back in the day.

A lot of the saws came with the double shaft I assume so they were jointer ready. My first saw was a Rockwell 9" with the double shaft. They had a cast cap that bolted to the motor to cover the shaft when it was not in play.

Here is a pic of one with the cap in place: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dayton-Capacitor-AC-Electric-Motor-Model-5K286H-Volts-115-Dual-Volt-Dual-Shaft/291749669174?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3D195fc15412b84a82a2b cbe9dac7271ef%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D8%26rkt%3D30%2 6sd%3D302219203052
