While not ideal, I am going to attempt to make my first interior door, using poplar, 6/4, on my router table.

I do have good dust collection, Incra lift, and a Porter Cable 7518 3 1/4hp router, so for one door and practice, I think this will suffice.

The wood is fairly inexpensive, I have the equipment, all I need is a the router bit set….

Here is my dilemma….

The end user wants Shaker….The only entry/passage door shaker set I can find is through Infiity, but the extended tenon cutter is out of stock.

Freud has sets with the extended cutter, but not in Shaker profile.

CMT and MLCS has no Shaker profile…..

And I missing any choices?

It will be a struggle with a router.
Your job, something you don't want to hear, is for
the shaper. Dozens of cutter choices, the power,
and, of course, expensive.

If your making only one door, you can cut the grooves and the tenons on a table saw. It will take a couple passes for the grooves, but should be faster than a trip to the hardware store. Then ease the edges with sandpaper, plane, or router.

I have two door making sets. I have had them for years. I value them highly. I would not be without them. Mine are shaper sets.

Over the years, I have made six 1 3/4" doors.
