My bandsaw (an ACM Star 400) came without a miter gauge and I am going to shortly require one. (once I get back into the shop for the winter :) )

I see several for sale on the internet, but the problem I am having is that the slot in my bandsaw is not of the "standard" North American dimensions. Rather, the slot is 5 milimetres deep and 15 milimetres wide.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who know where such things can be purchased.

I think the Hammer N4400 has the same mitre slot. Maybe you can check with a Felder outlet.. the mitre gauge is available as an acessory and in europe costs 50 euro incl. tax.

Frank, if you can’t fine a ready made one that fits your ACM, pick up a Delta or whatever, send it to me, and I’ll machine down the bar for you

Thanks very much for the offer Bruce. I might just take you up on the offer if the shipping costs are not too prohibative.

Here's another option for you, Frank: make your own.

From Gord Graff:

Metal Supermarkets might have the metric sized bar but if they don't, you could substitute a strong hardwood until you find a metal bar.

Cheers,
