I did a search but did not find any recent information. I am thinking about the Freud SD600 Dial-A-Width Dado. Does it work as advertised and what is the quality compaired to other top brands?
I think that the SD500 should be just as good but it seems to me that for 50 more bucks the SD600 would be a lot less trouble for minor adjustments. From what I see the SD200, 300 and 400 do not have the 3/32 chipper that allows the 1/32 adjustment for undersize wood without using shims.
I know that it will not fit all saws but I found on another site that if you have an abor that is 1 3/32 plus 1 3/16 between the inner flange and the inside of the nut that it can be used full width. I have not measured mine yet but I am using a Delta Uni saw so I do not think that I will have any problems. Will measure later. I hope that information that I found is correct. I could not find the info on the Freud web site.
Any comments?
Thanks! Allen
