Hello all, I have a challenge for you guys - I have a jig I inherited and I think that it might be related to clock-making. Something like a jig to keep the movement in place is my best guess. Anyone know how to identify this piece and what to call it?

Try [clock movement holder stand] in Google Image Search.

Perfect, thanks! I've always found what I needed on this site with a simple search, but this one has been stumping me for quite some time.

Try [clock movement holder stand] in Google Image Search.

Then it would be one without weights and pendulum. I think the v groove in the bottom holder might hold a clock face but that top piece? Seems a little off to me?

The groove is probably designed to hold the clockwork frame. The faces generally don't attach to the clockworks.
