I'm happy to report that our own Alan Turner's beautiful Newport-style kneehole desk is indeed in the November/December issue of Fine Woodworking...on page 89. The photo is great, too!!

Congratulations, Alan!

The woodworking equivalent of being on the cover of the "Rolling Stone".:D

Now pay attention, FWW, it is Jason Tuinstra's turn to be recognized. Let's see the tin cupboard in your pages!

Yep - congrats Alan! A small bit of recognition for a beautiful piece!

The cover table was made by a Lancaster Co. gentleman as well.

I was working at the new shop yesterday, and my wonderful bride was there also, painting the windows and cleaning them. Wow. Talk about a great bride. Anyway, she finished and left, and went home, and I stayed to work a bit, etc. So, the mail came, FWW was there, and she called me to let me know the desk was there.

My thanks to all here at SMC as I had not planned to submit the desk for publication. This is my first time in a magazine, and I have to say that it is a nice sort of external validation.

Well, back to the salt mines. I have 10 student workbenches to build, so best get at it. No rest for the weary.

Congrats Alan: National recognition, who knows, probably international recognition of your fine skill and craftsmanship.

I hope the phone lines are open for the commissions coming your way!

Enjoy the moment, TJH :D

Alan,

Congratulations!

I don't think the photo does the piece justice. I know the pix you posted here were great and I can only imagine what it looks like in person.

Now, did you want my copy sent to you for signature or were you going to do a "ROAD TRIP" to sign all the Creekers copies? ;) :D

Thanks again, guys. Better (more) pix are posted at SAPFM.org, in the gallery. But I actually think more are posted here than anywhere.
