Using Oneway chuck spur with Vicmarc

Does anyone know if a Oneway Chuck Spur can be safely used with a Vicmarc chuck? Also I am looking for suggestions on turning large items between centers without using a morse taper drive center. I know about Best Wood Tools Texas Spur. Are there other options?

I adapted the oneway by welding on a tab that matches the inside diameter of the vicmarc chuck, that way it will keep the point centered.
