Lots of beetle tracks in this little piece. 7-1/2" wide, 3-1/4" tall, 1/2" wall thickness. Sanded thru 600, wiped on/in some Tung Oil.

Wow Mark...The colors seem so vibrant! Did you do something out of the ordinary to bring that out? Nice looking Bowl!

John, I just wiped on and rubbed in about two coats of Tung Oil, then after it dried for a few minutes I burned it in with some shavings. I also wiped a very light coat of beeswax on it.

Can't take any credit for the wood - God did it all w/o my help....:D

Newer and better (IMO) pics of the same bowl...

Mark, I love the outdoor settings for your pictures, the natural lighting always seems to give truer color. My only gripe is, sometimes you seem to be farther away from the subject. Maybe that is intentional but I want the beautiful woodwork to be the focus of the picture with the background almost incidental. The bowl is beautiful and so are the pics.

Yep...me too. I think the outdoor look is fantastic. I wonder if you could create like a smaller microcosm of all the elements that you show in the larger picture....then get closer. That bowl is great...just a little harder to see its details.

Okay, there seems to be a common theme in the feedback of the "too many distractions in the background" type. Also a few have commented that I need to get closer to the bowls.

Good information! I'll play around with these suggestions and see what restults I get.

For me? I enjoy the backgrounds in the photos. I like seeing the bowl, but also enjoy the "other stuff" in the pictures. But that's just me...:D

THANKS for all the suggestions!

I'd like to add another thought if I may: Keep the big pictures and offer a close-up to go along with it. Best of both worlds.
