my math stinks lol
10" wide rectangle 8- 1" circles evenly spaced
10" wide rectangle 7- 1" circles evenly spaced

10 with 8 = .125 to start then .25 between
10 with 7 = .2142 to start and .4285 between this will be real close

Real easy in Corel without any math.
Draw your circles plus two extra.
Place the extras centered on the box edge with the others between
Then select all circles and do a align & distribute/distribute
Delete the two outer circles
Done.

If you want the same space at the edges as you have between circles :
for 8 circles : measure 23/32" in from the edge for the first circle center then 1-7/32" between circle centers
for 7 circles : measure 7/8" in from the edge for the first circle center then 1-3/8" between circle centers

I can't get this way to work, no matter what I click they don't line up right.

I understand these days the Marine Corps makes new Marines learn all this new fangled math through the MCI courses.

You need to do an "align" to get them in a straight row. Distribute does the spacing.

Align to center the distib to extent of selection
You need to do an "align" to get them in a straight row. Distribute does the spacing.
