I just got back from the Orange Borg and they guys in Yellow and black were there in force. They were introducing their newest SCMS the Model 718. They had one set up and I was allowed to play with it I made several cut on some 2 x 4 and 4 x 4 as well as some 1 x 12 pine.
Comments.
Nice new features in that it has a
4" x 14" cut capacity and by taking off the standard fence can cut 3 x 16".
9 preset stop for both the table and the Bevel.
Very well made in terms of reggedness.
The table and Bevel will tilt to 60 degrees in either direction
It has a micro adjust feature to allow you to sneak up on an angle.
If you want a laser they have a nice design that fits on the front of the blade guard that is dead on accurate.
If I were a contractor in the field I would definitly consider it but for the shop I think the $720 that it costs would be better spent towards a good table saw with a good fence.
