When engraving darker corian does it need to be color filled or will it engrave white?

My only experience is with white, which stays white, so I'd plan on color fill

It engraves to about the same color as the edge. I colorfill all Corian.

Ok, thank you for the info. What do you usually use to colorfill? I know years ago I engraved a small piece of corian and used rub n buff. What about acrylic paint or spray paint? Do you usually mask it with transfer tape?

I usually mask it with transfer tape just to ease the cleanup. I usually use acrylic paints though the gold I used was Rustoleum as it was for an outdoor installation. That has held up well and the customer just ordered another piece because of it.

Be careful with dark Corian. If you sand, be prepared to sand to a very high grit. Light colors look fine at 300-1000 grit. Dark colors look cloudy. It's an extra 3-4 steps of sanding to bring it back to factory finish.

Good point. I usually polish it to get a good gloss.

Just use a buffing wheel with polishing compound to bring back a high luster..
