Japanese wood craftsmen and their carpentry guilds were known to carefully protect trade secrets of their construction techniques. Even as the approaches found visual representation in print publications, it was often hard to visualize how they worked. Man o man japanese joinery really really excites me.

When I was on holiday in Japan a couple of years ago, went to a woodworkers museum in Kobe. My wife had to pry me out of there. The joinery was truly amazing. And all done y hand. I'm not giving up my domino anytime soon :)
