Do any of you have experience with using LazerBlak aluminum material? I think Rowmark makes it. I have some small warning signs that require a yellow and black color scheme, so I purchased some yellow LazerBlak in hopes of turning certain areas of it black. I can’t find the right settings to accomplish this. JDS Industries suggests to use DPI 400, Speed 70%, Power 35% for a 60 watt laser. I have an 80 watt Co2 Trotec Speedy 400.

Yes, I am quite familiar with it, I have a 35 watt Machine but the settings I use 35% Power, 90% Speed, 500PPI for all of the colors.

Okay, I'll try around those settings.

It's a JDS item not Rowmark. It engraves at about the same settings as any coated metal. About 10-15 watts of power and full speed.

Ross is correct, it is JDS product line.

I have used all of the colors and I find that Green Laserblack I have to run second pass for clean result.
On speedy 300 I use these settings........Power 45%, speed 95%, DPI 500

I do a fair number of similar signs but I use IPI yellow/black laminated plastic.

Yeah, I wish I could use yellow plastic, but this is for a DoD client wanting aluminum.

Thanks guys for helping me. I finally found a setting that produces good results on my 80 watt. It was Speed 18 Power 18.
