The vintage trenching heads from England . What,s a mortise without a tenon? this is not a RECOMMENDATION ONLY MY WAY OF DOING IT.

Can't imagine why those went out of fashion - seems well within OSHA/Health and Safety at Work guidelines to me :-)

Impressive cutter. I wonder if it tries to self feed. the bronzes head has a built in limiter that said knife project is 1/16" off the block. Not made for a sears saw! I have 4 of these up to 13" in diameter On the Wadkin 18" cross cut saw. that saw is very heavy and has a 1 1/4" spindle with 6" under the nut. it can hold heads 4.5" wide to do a bird mouth cut in one go.

That's a heck of a setup Jack! Looks like once you get 'er dialed in, it's a perfect fit. I'm green with envy!
