I placed an advertisement looking for a bench top drill press to take to the farm in OWWM. I got quite a few replies at inflated prices but an old friend there sent a message and said he had one and pick it up on my next trip through his area. So I picked up the "small bench top" drill press he set aside. I should have knows something was up when he recommended I drive the truck. He did say I might find a few other "small tools" at his place to take home. I did.

That's a Jet 1200 pound mobile base under it. There are 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood making the base. That was a joy to install alone. Here is the Rockwell that now will move to the farm. I had thought I was getting a smaller drill press than this one.

You have a very good friend. Is that a Reeves type drive on the Rockwell/Delta ? Good luck getting that one onto your bench;)

Could you take a wide angle lens and shoot photos of that bench that DP is going on?;)

Nice DP and friend.

Ken,

I would have to build a set of stairs going to the bench top, reinforce the bench, etc. This one is one the floor to stay. Bruce is a very kind man.

That is a GORGEOUS 1200!!! And that pristine production table... drool... not a hint of an arc of shame.

Somebody did a beautiful job restoring that Powermatic 1200.
The 17" Delta press isn't too shabby either.
You can always do little work on a big drill press.

We had one just like it in the small staff shop where I worked. It's an excellent DP.

Rich, you really got screwed on that deal. Best if you ship it to me. I will even agree to split shipping with you.

In the old, old days, many here would have commented about the sound of air entering a vortex . . . . . but them days be gone. So, let me just comment: Nice, very nice.
