I will be moving to the Raleigh/Cary NC area next year, and would like to hear your recommendations for places for lumber, woodworking equipment, and anything else woodworking related of interest in the area.

Also, general information about the area is welcome.

Thanks

Doug

Steve Wall Lumber is in Mayodan, about 2 hours from Raliegh and they have good harwoods at very fair prices. There are plenty of Klingspor and Woodcrafts scattered across the region.

Welcome to NC
The Woodworking Shop on Capital Blvd-Raleigh
Woodcraft on Glenwood Ave next to the Wal-Mart
Woodworkers Supply in Graham about an hour drive south on I-40
There are seveal lumber dealers in the Raleigh area-check yellow pages.

As mentioned, the Woodcraft store in Raleigh is pretty good. There is also the usual assortment of Lowes and Home Depot for low end common wood. My brother in law lives in Raleigh and does a lot of wood working. I'll ask him were he buys from.
