Their I was minding my own business with my heads still hurting from the night before and what do I see on Craigslist but a 2013 Hammer A3-31 with all the fix-in's spiral cutter-head, mobility, extension, dial the whole-she-bang! So though bleary eyed I roll out the bed and informed a very cranky wife we need rent a trailer and off we go. Been looking for one of these for 2 years + can't wait to get started just have to get rid of some minor surface rust and hit her with some paste wax and away we go.

$3k thought it was a good price.

I missed out on by like 3 hours getting a Felder AD741 that had a bad motor/switch that a cabinet shop was trying to get rid for $200 (yes as in two hundred dollars). So annoyed missed that one.

That's a very good price. For comparison, a fairly identical machine is for sale on the Denver CL for $4.8k.

Wow then I really did score! Knew it was a deal didn't realize it was quite that good.

Would like to clean up the rust on it anyone have a good method/product? Would like to do it without causing more problems down the line. Thanks!

Lee Valley sells rust erasers that are very effective. The other thing you could do is use WD-40 and a scotch brite. You can also use the scotch brite with a ROS if need extra muscle. Make sure you use paste wax or something like slip it after your done.

Boeshield sells a great rust remover product for light rust that smells just like tarnex leading me to believe that would work great also.
