I'm trying to make a nice stand for cub scout adventure belt loops. I have a strip of wood that's now about 3/8 inch thick and 1 inch wide, and I'd like to round over the edges so the belt loops fit over it nicely. I've tried with a 1/8 round over bit which matches the belt loop but that leaves basically a point at the top. I realize this is because my wood is only 3/8 inch thick. Any suggestions?

Get a 3/8 bull nose router bit. Here's some (http://www.mlcswoodworking.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/smarthtml/pages/bt_bull.html).

A 3/16" round over bit set up in a router table with a fence will also work. Route one side flip board over and route the other.

You can use your existing bit, but you need a fence when you make the second cut on each edge since you removed the portion of the edge where the bearing would ride. When I round over stock to make a semi circular edge, I use a fence on my router table for all the cuts. This prevents the formation of the point.
