I am currently running an older 2 HP/11" steel impeller with the Super Dust Deputy/Wynn filter/5" main and am curious how much of an improvement I would see moving to a 12 3/4" impeller ?

All of my collection ports have been converted to 5" and I'm seeing ~ 500 CFM, it is adequate but....

BTW > anything needing more than 9 Amps would require some rewiring :)

Cheers, Don

I'm running a converted Shop Fox W1685 which has a 12" impeller. I've got 6" mains and a direct coupling between the blower housing and the top of the Deputy. Also the rotation of the blower matches the rotation of the Deputy. At the end of my main duct I have a reducing Y (6-5) which has a blast gate one side and a 5" port on the other. If I measure at that point I'm getting between 8-900CFM with a clean filter. Power rating of the DC as supplied is 16A. I would say its worth a try, Don

Andy, funny you mention that particular Shop Fox blower. It's exactly the one I have been trying to find---again---after foolishly letting one on C-list get away. In 110 volts it's likely the biggest bang for the buck out there. Has it ever popped a breaker on startup?

Not once, James - I have it running off a 20A circuit

Cheers, Don Do you mean 9 amps at 120v? I cannot see how that gets rated as 2hp. Doesn't mean it ain't so. I am not an electrician. Just sayin based on my own research. Would like to know if I have missed something.

2 HP/220V/9amps is stamped on the plate of my old motor.

And the American version is 240V :)
