When I was visiting my mother last summer her neighbor was making a coffee table out of curly redwood. I saw him throwing this piece away and so I asked if I could have it, he said sure. It took me three months to think of something to turn from it. Mostly I was just going to use it to practice my hollowing skills but in the end I really liked this wood and decided to keep what I turned. Here is a small bowl about 4" across. Not really anything special and I'm not sure I like the form but it is a beautiful piece of wood. The curly redwood piece was very porous, fine dust everywhere. Its also a very thirsty wood, it kept sucking in every drop of finish I could put on it. It is finished with a coat of sanding sealer and WOP.

Pretty coloring and shape appears to be good. a good profile photo would be good for shape and flow of the form to be seen.
