Thinking about replacing the feed belt on my drum sander. Not sure whether to use another abrasive belt or a rubber belt. I am having the usual tracking issues and have had them since I bought the sander used they may be attributed to belt set perhsps. I do not know how old the sander is but it is before the Smart Sand feature and I do not believe the the previous owner ever replaced the belt.

What are your thoughts -- abrasive belt or rubber belt? Also a source for your recommendation if you have one.

Thanks

I got mine used as well and still have the original abrasive belt on it but I don't use it a lot. I also have a spare that came with it so I don't need a replacement right away. I would suggest looking for online reviews of both to see if it can help your decision. There was a fairly involved thread on WoodCentral no too long ago that may help with this subject.
