Etching on slate

What would be the minimal wattage suggestion for etching on slate?

I'm looking at the cnc/laser combos right now but not sure it's enough wattage at 3ish watts to etch on slate.

Iwould not go with less then 30 watts, you might get away with less but why take the chance if slate is what you want to do. More power is always a good thing arrrr aarrrrr
