Hello all! I have a Trotec, 80 watt, Speedy 300 and have a 2.0 and a 2.5 lens for it. I'm interested in getting a 1.5 lens and Trotec wants $395.00 for one and another company, Bell laser, has them with the manual focus tool for a pinch over $200.00 bucks for their premium lens. I guess I'm looking for any pro and con advise in this area! Thanks, Jeff from Bellwether Laser LLC...

You can buy a lens holder on ebay, like I did, for $49. You can also buy lenses on ebay but make sure you get a II-VI lens. Mine was $31.86 - don't let the price scare you, it works just fine! I have a 1.5 that came with the laser and added a 2" and 4" via ebay.

See the sticky in this forum regarding Bell Laser - caveat emptor!

Is the focus tool the same as the 2.0 lens? I have seen a couple of references to that effect... Thanks for the info!!!

I only have one focus tool and it's set for the 1.5" lens. What I do is focus like it's a 1.5 then tell Job Control that it's whatever lens I'm actually using and it automatically adjusts. I should just make a tool I suppose but it's pretty easy the way I do it.

I've used Laser Research Optics from Providence, RI, a division of Meller Optics. Just got a 2.5 inch, cost plus ship was $175.00. I've used them before, they are unmounted.
