It's hard to leave behind the frigid cold, ice storms, snow, and such, but we did. A pleasant woodworker hello from the island of Aruba where it's currently in the high seventies with a nice beach breeze. Rod Sheridan wouldn't fit in our luggage.

Ahhh, Christmas on a Caribbean island. It doesn't get much better!
Have a great time, I'm more than a little envious.

I am not on speaking terms with you.

Glad to hear you're enjoying vacation.

I have completed the 3 frames from the Distillery District douglas fir, and fired up the shaper to make 24 oven push sticks as well.

Yesterday Diann was baking Tourtiere's (French Canadian meat pie), which are a Christmas tradition in our house.

My job was to shovel the patio, and put the tourtiere's on the patio table so they could freeze quickly, something you can't do in Aruba:D

Regards, Rod.

Umm...in this day and age, that would normally elicit a "you suck" reply :) ...but in the spirit of the season, have a wonderful time in paradise! Truly jealous! :D :D :D

Well if it makes you folks feel better, we were caught in two rain storms today. That was an intense three combined minutes. The rest of the day was sun. Well, I will take some photos for those interested, and those not interested. We will be in for a shocker on our return.

Yes, post some photos. We could live vicariously through them. :)

Thanks Tony, that's what I love about SMC members, always willing to help!

Hopefully those pictures aren't of you in speedos.

I'll have to say that you certainly did pick the right week to escape the weather.:)

Wife says speedos are illegal. As the photos will so, it looks just like Canada this time of year.

Just think of the white caps on the water as snow, and the sunshine as being overclouded.

I grew up in SoCal near the ocean. I surfed almost every weekend that my parents went sailing. Being land locked in NM I miss the ocean dearly.
Beautiful pictures!

I'll be in Cancun in a month at an all inclusive (with day care for the kids - adults too now that I think about it!).

I'll be sure to send some pictures to Rich when while we're there.

I can brag that I had a gig where I spent 4-6 weeks a year working in Hawaii, all expenses paid, which I enjoyed very much. I also worked 4-6 weeks in Alaska, usually in January or February, which I didn't enjoy as much.

"White sunny beaches" is how I describe Canada now................Rod.
