I absolutely love my DW716XPS dual bevel 12" CVS. Well, except for the stock dust collection which, quite frankly, sucks.

So I started tinkering. I picked up the dust deflector boot from the Kapex saw. Then I fashioned a metal bracket that wrapped around the back of the blade for the deflector to attach to using the Kapex clip made for it.

The result was a phenomenal increase in dude collection! I dare say 95%+ is now being collected. This compared to maybe 25% prior to the modification.

Awesome! Ive read of a number of people doing this on several different miter saw models. Post the part number for the Kapex boot.

Nevermind, looks like its Festool part number 200215 (LINK (http://www.festoolproducts.com/festool-200215-kapex-replacement-dust-extraction-boot.html)).

Thanks for posting that tip. I have the same saw.. Does the clip come with the fesstool boot?

No they're separate. The boot is 471316 and the clip is 471315.

I wish I had photos from while I was making the met!lol bracket, but it was a trial & error thing. As you're facing the saw I attached it to an existing screw while on the right side I drilled a hole and use a small machine screw. It's basically just a U-shaped piece of metal I cut away most of the back so there is a larger opening for the sawdust.

I noticed there are two different part numbers.

Saw #495822 - KS 120 EB CAN 120V - Part #200215 as Ben posted. It appears that the clip comes with the deflector as a set using this number.
or
Saw #495649 - KS 120 EB 120V Can - Part #471316 & 471315 as I stated in my previous post.

I believe they are the same part, although I'm not sure what the differences are between the saws. The ones I used are the ones I posted.
