I have not got around to it nor used the tool recently...too much going on. But it's "on the list"... ;)

not sure about the brushes in the chop saw thing, but for what is worth on dewalt chop saws one of the things that fails and makes you think you have a brush problem is the switch. You might be tempted to think the brushes are worn down when you get an intermittent starting and running situation, but In the case of my dewalt it was the switch in the handle that was the cause.

Replaced the switch twice in a DeWalt slider...the DeWalt techies said it was because we ran it too long aftrer the brushes were worn oit (but not dead enough the saw wouldn't run).

interesting ! My brushes were fine, just too many cycles on the switch
