Red Welding Arc

When stick welding, 1/8'' or less rod, the arc is bright red.
I've done quite a bit of welding years ago but I'm thinking it was always a blue arc.
The weld is decent. It's a 250 amp AC/DC machine. Red arc in all polarities.
Any thoughts?

What brand and type of rod? Are you welding outside or inside a building or shop?

Mine looks green. Mainly because of the shade on the lens of my mask.

Check the color of your lens... Look at a light bulb...
