I need to polish about two square feet of brass, anyone here know of a good homemade brass polish?

TIA

Does it have to be homemade? Bar Keeper's Friend is supposed to work really well.

Doesn't have to be homemade, but I prefer if it costs like it's home made.

The polishing works using an ultra fine abrasive. The alternatives are likely to be more expensive than the substitutes. Use Brasso if that is available. I am assuming that you are just wanting to polish up something that is tarnished. If starting from scratch, take it to a plating shop and get it polished. Cheers

Brasso works well. I used it to shine my brass when I was in high school ROTC.

I've used Simichrome for all sorts of metal polishing for a long time. It works really great! I doubt you can find any homebrew that comes close.

How ironic I'm also Navy and it's a 3" 50 cal. shell that I'm trying to polish. Don't need any nightmares from using Never Dull.

All these sailors of old. We Marines used Brasso. The home-made variety is white vinegar and salt.
