What is a good hollowing tool

I am looking to do some hollowing of round objects such as wood ornaments and billiard balls. what is a good hollowing tool for something like this??? Do I need to go carbide?? Thanks in advance.

You don't have to go with carbide. There are a lot of HSS hollowing tools out there. I have the Sorby Micro hollowing tool for small pieces. I use Trent Bosch's hollowing tools for larger pieces

+1 on Trent's tools. I am partial to HSS tools generally though I do use some carbide. i can sharpen both but HSS is easier to get a good edge for me.

If that is what you want to turn I would definitely go with Mike Hunters tools. They are carbide cutting tools not scrapers, check out the taper tools. They are made for what you want to do. They are not a cheap date but worth every penny.
