This morning I bought some kiln-dried white pine (clear) at a local sawmill for use as the door on a corner cabinet I am building. The rest of the cabinet is poplar and will be painted, while pine door will end up being stained. Anyway, after planing the pine, I see that that it has quite a few streaks of pitch in various spots. Is this something to be concerned about? Should I not use it?

Kiln drying is supposed to set the pitch. I would give it some time to see what is happening to the pitch, and if all looks well I would still use a sealing coat of shellac.
