Does anybody know if the brass cutter adjustment nut is unique to the Stanley 51 Chute plane or can other bench planes be Donor?
Thanks

Take the brass adjuster off the Stanley #51, and try fitting a brass adjuster from a Stanley bench plane.

James, I suspect that it is standard. If looking at a donor bench plane, another from the same era (mine is 1896) is more likely to fit.
Here is a link to a restoration I did: http://www.inthewoodshop.com/ToolRestorations/Restoring%20a%20Stanley%205152.html

Thanks for the replies.
I haven't bought the plane yet, it is in a forthcoming auction and I am pondering on whether to bid on it without the adjusting nut and hope I can find one to fit or adapt one
