Haven't purchased too many tools lately, but recently had a need for another small router plane. My Father used my old Stanley 271 and has not returned it (aren't kids supposed to borrow tools from thier Dad's?). So while hunting around on TheBay a few weeks ago I stumbled across a gentleman in Waco, TX that was making his own bronze version of the 271. I received it yesterday and it is wonderfull. I purchased one of his cutters, and have an assortment of homeade ones already. The fit and finish are great for a sand casted tool. The heft is right on the mark as well. Anyone interested in this tool may e-mail me as I have his e-mail address. I'm in no way affiliated with John, just a very happy customer. Thanks for looking, and thanks to my Dad for not returning my old 271, or else I may not have found this one.

I recently bought a #271 and can't believe how handy the little bugger is.

I would like a couple extra cutters for it...email on its way. Thanks!

Dan, for my own cutters I normally just use allen keys and file them to the shape I want and then sharpen them.
