Anyone know of a 6" French made jointer/planer? I found one in the paper, but I don't want to spend my gas to go look at it until I know more about it. The seller doesn't know anything about it, other than what is printed on the machine.

The only thing on it say's Electroli f67240 Bischwiller 1994-02526. I did a search for Electroli, and found french made combo machines. Oh yeah, I don't read French! So... I can't understand it.

Did Inca make a 6" combo planer jointer? Could it be Inca?

I'll probably pass this one up, unless it's a good machine. I'd rather stick with a well-known machine.

Any opinions???

Scott, you can translate the French site by using an online resource, such as Paralink:

I use this site a LOT for Russian translation right now...

Thanks, Jim
That helped out.
I'm wondering if this might be the machine. http://kity-rouen.com/home.php?detail_fiche=true&art=819
Anyway, I think it might be too rare to get parts or service for, so I'm gonna pass on this one...

200mm is about 10" wide, so that would indeed make it similar, at least, to the Inca.

Well, shoot, then that's not it... Seller said it was a 6", and there was a sticker on it that said 140mm.... Of course, I don't know jack about metric, either...

25.4 mm per inch....... round it to 25.......or 100mm = 4 inches

Inca made a 8" and 10" (plus or minus a bit) jointer/planers. The 8" was manual feed, the 10" powered. Both very nice machines as far as the planer portion is conerned, but too short on the Jointer aspect.
