Type of metal for engraving brands?

We had a customer inquire about making some brands that they would use to mark custom wood products. I was thinking we could either deep engrave into a plate with our galvo or laser cut the profile on our fiber cutter.

Had anyone tried this before? Any suggestions on what kind of metal to use for the brand?
