OK. Got the rubberized paint type finish stuff. You know, the stuff you can use to dip tool handles. It says you can also brush it on. WHAT A PAIN IN THE BACK-SIDE! The stuff is like trying to spread a booger with a paint brush. It is sticky and gooey but at the same time runny and slimy. If that doesn't describe a booger I don't know what does. My project is now full of runs, drips and sags.

Anyone else ever used this stuff? Any thought or suggestions?

I've only used it to dip handles and parts into. I found that you need to dip in and out slowly so more of the stuff stays on place with a thicker coating.

A tip for you! Where I used to work at a major plier manufacturing house, they dipped their plier handles in plastisol for soft grips. However, the plier handles were pretreated with a coating of lacquer before they got the plastisol treatment. It bonds the plastisol in place so that you have to peel it off one small piece at a time. The pliers were heated before dipping to make the stuff set up better.
